SAIMAIYU AKESUK is a contemporary Inuit artist from Kinngait (Cape Dorset), Nunavut, known for her bold, playful approach to Inuit drawings and limited-edition prints. Encouraged by acclaimed artist Ningiukulu Teevee and inspired by her late grandfather, sculptor Latcholassie Akesuk, she creates expressive images of Arctic wildlife marked by strong colour, confident line, and graphic clarity. Her work has been featured in Kinngait Studios annual print collections and exhibited across Canada and the United States, establishing her as an important voice in the next generation of Inuit artists.
