EXHIBITS
The Art Of Noticing – Robert Pasternak
Friday, May 1 to Saturday, May 30, 2026
Opening Reception: Friday, May 1 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Local Winnipeg artist Robert Pasternak is back after a 10 year hiatus with a scale-bending exhibit that showcases his wide ranging creativity and artistic abilities.
With 15 pieces of art on the main gallery walls viewers will be delighted with Robert’s large scale works of assemblage, hyper-realistic painting, abstract drawings and more.
But the star of the show is his 1/12th scale miniature gallery. This gallery within a gallery exhibits another 80+ artworks in miniature. Nothing is lost on these small scale original artworks, created with the same vision and precision as their larger rivals. Everything is hand-framed and hung with care.
Alongside the artworks we will be screening Robert’s experimental short films on the main gallery wall AND on TinyTV’s in the 1/12 scale gallery. Robert’s films have screened internationally in places like Venice, Italy and Los Angeles.
And finally, you can visit the Nakfactorium, showing off Robert’s comic book passion and wild creativity. Pick up original hand made art novelty items or one of his published, abstract graphic novels.
FEATURED ARTIST
Luke Anguhadluq
(1895–1982)
Luke Anguhadluq was a highly respected Inuit artist from Baker Lake (Qamani’tuaq), Nunavut, and a foundational figure in the development of Inuit drawing and printmaking in the central Arctic. Largely self-taught and drawing directly from lived experience, Anguhadluq developed a distinctive visual language marked by flattened space, direct narrative, and an unembellished clarity of line. His images of life on the land, hunting practices, and traditional knowledge are not stylized for effect, but recorded with authority and precision. A key contributor to the Baker Lake print program, his work is sought after by knowledgeable collectors and is held in major museum collections as a cornerstone of Inuit graphic art.
